Shannon B. Chenoweth
Shannon has been writing since she was a wee baby. Ok, so it was really more like since she was in Elementary school. She knew she wanted to write for tv or movies by the age of 12. It was during those middle-school years that Shannon enjoyed writing television scripts for some of her favorite shows. Those included, MacGyver, Rin Tin Tin K-9 Cop and The Commish.
This "hobby" continued into high school. During those middle and high school years, she also did some writing for the schools' newspapers. Following graduation, she entered the local community college. There, she signed on to work with the college's paper. It was here that her aspirations to be a writer hit a roadblock. One of the professors who taught the journalism class, and whom was a co-advisor on the school's newspaper would say the words that would make her seriously re-evaluate her dream of being a writer. The professor told Shannon that she had no writing talent, that her writing sucked, plain and simple. Futhermore, the only reason the newspaper was publishing any of it was due to the fact that they were desperate for any and every article they could get. By the end of the semester, the words had sunk deep into Shannon's subconcious. Maybe she really wasn't meant to be a writer. So, for over four years, Shannon didn't write much of anything.
Thankfully that changed in 2004. While at Wizard World Chicago in August, things just started becoming clear to her. She wanted to write comics. It was almost as if that roadblock was no longer impossible to pass. In fact, it wasn't even there anymore. Now, Shannon spends most of her off-work time writing any and everything that she can. Her dream is to one day work for Marvel or DC Comics. In the meanwhile though, she is having the time of her life doing what she now knows she has always been meant to do, write.
